Dr. Miroslav Honzák is a conservation scientist and geospatial expert with over 20 years of global experience in biodiversity modeling, ecosystem monitoring, natural capital accounting, and remote sensing. He has led major projects with Conservation International, collaborating with NASA and other national and international governmental and non-governmental organizations, developing decision support tools and scalable frameworks to quantify nature’s contributions to climate resilience and human well-being. Dr. Honzák holds a Ph.D. in Geography and advanced degrees in Remote Sensing and Cybernetics and has held academic roles at Arizona State University prior to joining George Washington University, where he teaches Biogeography. He also serves as a Solutions Engineer at terraPulse Inc., focusing on the application of Earth observation science to conservation and sustainable development.
