Declan Cullen is an Assistant Professor of Geography at the George Washington University. He is the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Geography major and teaches cultural geography, economic geography, world regional geography, political geography, geographies of empire and colonialism, and the history of geographic thought. Dr. Cullen received his PhD from the Department of Geography at Syracuse University. His research focuses on a range of topics from platform capitalism, labor, automation, and urban governance to historical geographies of colonialism and imperialism. His recent publications appeared in the Environment and Planning A, Society and Space, and the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies. His most recent publication is Disrupting D.C. The rise of Uber and the Fall of the City published by Princeton University Press.
